Admissions
Enrollment in the first-year program is open to all students
holding a high school diploma or equivalent and who have
the desire, commitment and passion for the work. An interview with the Artistic Director is necessary before you can be accepted into the program.
Up to twenty (20) students will be admitted into the first
year program. Students who successfully complete the first
year program and receive positive evaluations from their
core teachers are invited to audition for the second year
program. Up to twelve people will be accepted into the second
year program.
Application Procedures:
1. Complete the application form.
2. Submit a nonrefundable, nonwaivable application fee in
the form of a cashier check or money order payable to The
Portland Actors Conservatory in the amount of $25.00.
3. Provide
a current resume listing previous experience. If you do not
have previous experience, a letter of intent and desire to participate is
acceptable.
4. Provide an official transcript or proof of high school
graduation or equivalent.
5.
Provide two letters of recommendation
that speak to your desire, professionalism, and prospects for
success in a rigorous conservatory program.
6. Upon receipt of the above materials, you will complete an interview with the Artistic Director by phone or in person.
7. After your interview, you will be notified within 30 days of your acceptance into the program.
Applications will be accepted until July 15. Early
application is encouraged.
Tuition and Fees:
Tuition for the current academic year is $8,500. Students are required to pay a $150 enrollment fee with the letter of acceptance and a $100 fee for supplies with the first tuition payment. Total cost for the two year program, including all tuition and fees, is $17,500. Tuition and fees are due at the beginning of each semester. Late payments (not paid by the first day of the semester) will be assessed a late fee of $50.
